Luis Alberto Picuasi

His story

Luis lives on the slopes of the Imbabura volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes.  He is dedicated to making tapestries which are used as rugs, curtains and decorations for the home.  He is also a farmer, and raises small animals.

From a very young age, he participated in the raising and care of sheep.  He has extensive knowledge about the careful harvesting of sheep wool and classification of the raw materials so that his handicrafts are of better quality.

He is 48 years old and has ten children.  His family is large, and they live by making handicrafts.
