Luis Enrique Quilumba Cando

Luis is the first son of Jose Quilumba and Maria Cando from San Roque, Imbabura, Ecuador.  He is a second-generation weaver.  He began his weaving at age 8, working on his father's wooden looms to create blankets, shawls and scarves.  His wife also makes wool sweaters to export to the United States and Europe.  He continues to produce blankets, shawls and scarves made largely from alpaca.

His son, David, is also a weaver and artisan.
